What is crafting?

Crafting is a useful feature in LaTale
which enables a player to create items from various drops or other
items and a crafting capsule (but more on that later).

How can I craft?

You can begin crafting at level 10 by
getting a crafting book from the Belos blacksmith. This is a very
important time though! You get to make a decision that will stick with
you the whole game! There are 5 kinds of crafting and you can only pick
one, so pick the one you like best or you have volunteered for.

What are the five types of crafting?


Weapon Crafting

-crafts unique and regular weapons

Armor Crafting

-crafts unique and regular armors and shields

Accessory Crafting

-crafts unique and regular accessories

Alchemy

-crafts hp/sp/stat/res potions as well as jellies (which are required for some unique weapons to be made) along with a few other items.

Craftsmanship

-crafts threads (needed for armor crafting), upgrades ores, and makes kits (needed for the majority of unique equipments)

So how does crafting work?

To craft anything you need its specific ingredients and a crafting capsule. Capsules can be bought from Rohan in Belos. You will need a certain level capsule for certain level crafting. So a higher level crafting would need a superior (and more expensive) capsule. When you craft something there is always a chance of horrible, horrible failure…

The chance of success is: 60 + ( crafting level - crafting level needed for crafting) * 3%. However the highest you are allowed is 95% success.

So obviously the lower the item is compared to your crafting level the better chance you have for success.

What’s a crafting level?

Crafting, like normal character development, has a level. You can gain crafting exp from, well…. crafting obviously. Crafting levels make your rate for success higher, allow you to craft more things, and are a prerequisite for getting the higher level crafting books. Level 40 is the max crafting level.
